Serhii Bohachuk vs. Ishmael Davis

Round 1: Bohachuk right out with the jab, Davis goes to the body as Bohachuk takes center. They trade straight rights. Good body work by Davis. He’s mixing his punches well. Hard right by Davis. Bohachuk having little luck keeping Davis on the outside. Davis gets past Bohachuk’s jab and scores again. Body punch by Davis, he’s off to a good start.

Round 2: Bohachuk keeps trying to attack with straight punches, but Davis is just out of range. Davis scoring as he dips in and out. He sneaks in another sharp right. Davis makes Bohachuk miss and lands to the body again. Bohachuk pressures Davis against the ropes. Nice uppercut inside by Bohachuk. Had body shot by Davis, Bohachuk answers with a left hook. There’s a left hook by Davis. They’re right in each other’s faces, landing short punches. Big left hand by Bohachuk and down goes Davis. Felt like both fighters were playing with fire there. Standing eight-count and they’re back at it. Bohachuk advancing, but with caution. Davis fires back, but eats another uppercut as the round comes to a close.

Round 3: Bohachuk clearly the aggressor in the opening seconds of the third. Davis still active with counters. Bohachuk goes to the body, but Davis scores. Hard left hook by Bohachuk. Good right hand from Davis, but Bohachuk is coming forward effectively now. Right hook connects for Davis. Two-punch combo from Bohachuk lands. They’re throwing in close again. Right hand down the middle by Bohachuk. Davis with a counter right. Bohachuk to the body, then a glancing uppercut. He’s battering Davis on the ropes. Uppercut by Davis, he’s not out of this one. Bohachuk caps off the round with a left hook on the money.

Round 4: Bohachuk starts off with a jab, but it’s not long before he cuts off the ring again. Bohachuk lands a couple of jabs. He’s found the range. Speedy right hand from Davis cracks Bohachuk. High-volume offense from Bohachuk, he’s winning the in-close exchanges now. Nice jab by Bohachuk. Davis still throwing, but he’s catching a lot of glove. Bohachuk with a left hook. Davis needs to get that head out of the way of these shots. Davis just trying to muscle his way in and he’s eating punches.

Round 5: Bohachuk in hot pursuit, chasing Davis with that jab. Great right by Bohachuk as he scores and then dodges a Davis strike. Left hand down the pipe by Davis finds Bohachuk’s chin. Hard left hook by Bohachuk, then a right. Bohachuk racking up points whenever Davis tries to clinch with him. Uppercut by Bohachuk. He lands a stiff right. Davis just letting Bohachuk tee off on him. There’s a response from Davis as he lands an uppercut, but he’s being out-punched in this frame by a wide margin. Bohachuk stringing together punches well.

Round 6: Davis’ punches falling much shorter now. He’s trying to match Bohachuk at range, but that’s a non-starter. Bohachuk letting that right hand fly freely. He goes to the body, then lands another left hook. There’s a nice body shot by Davis. Clean jab by Bohachuk. Davis pops him with a left. Hard rights by Bohachuk as he pushes Davis to the corner. Davis circles out, but eats an uppercut, the defense just isn’t there for him right now. Big uppercut by Bohachuk, and another as Davis tries to circle. Another strong finish for Bohachuk.

Davis’ corner has seen enough, thank goodness. He signaled to them that he’d had enough, as well. That was one-way traffic for a while. This bout is over.
