The first all-electric M car from BMW, the i4 M50

Personally, I really like most of BMW’s M cars, the MotorSport division has created some of the most impressive cars ever, I especially love the M1 which was supposed to be built together with Lamborghini but ended up at Baur in Germany, I actually owned an E30 323i Baur in the past, that was the E30 convertible with a foldable rear section and a hardtop above the driver and passenger that could be stored in the luggage space before BMW made a full convertible themselves, and let’s be honest, most of the current M cars are real beasts for the road, and now we get the very first all-electric M car, the i4 M50, putting 540 hp down on all four wheels (this one has two electric motors, one for the front wheels and one for the rear wheels) and boasts an acceleration figure of 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, that’s M3 territory.

Without going into too much detail, I will let YouTube star Doug DeMuro walk you through all the ‘quirks and features’ of this amazing high-power alternative to a Tesla for instance, and I specifically don’t mention the new Audi e-tron GT or the Porsche Taycan … the BMW i4 sits in the mid-size sedan segment, and with an MSRP below $70,000 it’s not really competition for either the Audi or the Porsche, let’s take a look at the 25-minute video below:
